Western country music legend Michael Martin Murphey was born in Dallas, Texas, on this day in 1945. He turns 81 today! 🤠🎂 Michael is known as the voice behind timeless tunes such as “Wildfire,” “Carolina in the Pines,” and “A Long Line of Love.” He also wrote New Mexico’s state ballad, “The Land of Enchantment.” Michael remains active as a performer and just released a new version of “Wildfire” as a duet with Cody Johnson last year.
