Barbra Streisand almost never opens the door on her marriage. On her 28th anniversary, she posted one rare photo and a question every long marriage eventually asks…… Barbra Streisand does not do this. That’s the first thing to understand…… In an age where couples narrate every anniversary in real time, she and James Brolin have spent nearly three decades keeping the best of it to themselves. She’ll post about her dogs. She’ll post about a cause. She almost never posts about her marriage….. So when a rare photo of the two of them turned up on her Instagram on the first of July, the people who follow her knew right away that it meant something….. The caption was short. It usually is, when it’s real…… “Honey… 30 years together and 28 years married!? Where has the time gone? Happy Anniversary.”…. And then the part that got everyone. She signed it “Barbra Joan Brolin.” Not the stage name the whole world knows. The married name. The private one……. Thirty years together. Twenty-eight married. It started in 1996, with a dinner at a friend’s house that was really a blind date, and it ended up in a backyard on July 1st, 1998, in front of a guest list you would not believe.
