Introduction

Get to Know Bubba Strait – The Son of Country Music Legend George Strait

George Strait, known as the “King of Country Music,” is not only a global music icon with over 100 million records sold but also a devoted family man. He married his high school sweetheart, Norma, and the couple has been together for more than 48 years. They had two children: Jennifer and George Jr., affectionately called Bubba. Tragically, in 1986, the family faced a heartbreaking loss when Jennifer passed away in a car accident at just 13 years old.

Bubba Strait grew up surrounded by love and closely followed in his father’s footsteps. A sports enthusiast, he attended Texas A&M University and excelled in the rodeo circuit, particularly in steer roping – a classic Western sport. Both George and Bubba have proudly won championship belt buckles in steer roping events.

In addition to his rodeo skills, Bubba also ventured into songwriting, contributing several songs for his father. One of his notable compositions is Arkansas Dave, a song about an outlaw, which he has performed live on stage with George.

Today, Bubba is happily married to Tamarah, a successful real estate agent in Texas. The couple has two children: a son named George Strait III (lovingly called Harvey) and a daughter named Julianne Louise. Harvey has even performed on stage with his grandfather, singing God and Country Music, continuing the family’s strong musical legacy.

The Strait family continues to live in Texas, where they enjoy a quiet life filled with music, horses, and close family ties. George and Bubba still share a passion for golfing and Western traditions. With three generations of George Straits already involved in music and ranch life, fans can look forward to seeing young Harvey carry on the family legacy.
