Introduction
Barry Gibb – Greenfields: A Musical Journey Back to the Roots
“Greenfields: The Gibb Brothers’ Songbook (Vol. 1)” is more than just an album—it’s a heartfelt journey back to Barry Gibb’s roots, the last surviving member of the legendary Bee Gees. In the trailer, Barry reflects on his humble childhood in the countryside—a world far removed from today, where old tires lay across creeks and children walked miles through fields to get to school. Those memories laid the foundation for Greenfields, a country-infused project produced by the acclaimed Dave Cobb, whom Barry calls “a living legend.”
This album is a dream come true for Barry, featuring collaborations with some of the country artists he’s long admired—names like Dolly Parton, Keith Urban, Jason Isbell, and others. Each song on the album isn’t just something you listen to—Barry believes a great song is something you can see. To him, music is image, emotion, and memory.
Greenfields reimagines some of the Bee Gees’ most beloved hits like Words, Run to Me, and I’ve Gotta Get a Message to You—but this time with a raw, earthy bluegrass and country feel. Barry believes Bee Gees songs always carried a trace of country spirit, and now he’s simply brought that spirit to the forefront.
This project is a loving tribute to his late brothers, Robin and Maurice Gibb, and to the legacy they built together. To Barry, Greenfields is more than music—it’s heart, light, and color. It’s something that will stay with him forever, and he hopes it will stay with listeners too.
